@whynotbeauthentic: 👉 Why didn’t Steven Furtick say anything about Charlie Kirk on Sunday? I’ve gone to Elevation for 10 years, and honestly…I was really disappointed. 💔 It even makes me question if I want to keep going. What do you think? Should churches speak up in moments like this? Drop your thoughts in the comments ⬇️ #elevation #stevenfurtick #churchfamily #CharlieKirk #church
he mentioned George Floyd but not Charlie Kirk tells you all you need to know. Will never set foot in the church again

Steven furtick is sadly more worried about the masses then the Lord

I’ve known Steven since before he became the Steven Furtick.. he has always had his own agenda. It’s always been about him, not God. I’m hoping all of this is God opening the eyes of Elevation Church.. they’ve been blinded for a long time.

So many people are killed…the church is about Jesus not Kirk…that’s the problem …the focus should be JESUS.

My honest opinion is that if you’re even contemplating whether you should go, then maybe that’s God saying He needs you somewhere else 🤷🏻♀

Easy answer. He is a cowardly man and he is running a business NOT a place of true worship

Also to add, Charlie called him out on how he didn’t speak on Iryna earlier in the week last week BUT he made posts about George Floyd.

No disrespect but aren’t you going to church to praise the lord? You’re creating ‘idols’ outside of him no? You don’t need a pastor to pray for Charlie Kirk. At the end of the day, the judgement is for you, not the pastor or Charlie Kirk.

Charlie called him out on some things and, to be honest I think that is the reason.

Charlie Kirk was killed bc of faith, like Stephen in the Bible. Almost every church in America spoke about it & made same connection, any church that didn’t, isn’t teaching you correctly. That should be all you need to know.

As pastor mark driscoll mentioned this week that stood out to me was “If your church didn't address, the demonic murder of Charlie Kirk this weekend, the pastor is a coward and needs to repent or resign”

I attend Elevation and it was brought up by our campus pastor. He said a prayer around it. When SF began his sermon he referenced the events of the week.

I watch Elevation from Florida, I have for years, I knew in my heart he wouldn’t speak about Charlie and didn’t even watch, he was silent on Covid, but I still enjoyed his messages so I keep watching… But my pastor at church didn’t speak about Charlie either and I was heartbroken because the bottom line is they were both cowardice.

You’re leaving a church because the pastor didn’t talk about someone who died that spoke about God?

I use to love hearing his preaching and a couple of months ago I stop. What he was preaching stop clicking to me. It was more of like I didn’t feel like he was truth in alignment with God. But anyways I think him being like is more important than stand on the word of God. He has no hesitation to bring up and stand for George Floyd but stood silent for his brother in Christ speaks volumes. It’s a sell out. You felt that for a reason, pray about it and god will guide you to make the right decision

I love Furtick and watch every week, but I agree with you. I’m doing some research and if he supported Floyd (an overdose addict) and not Kirk, I will not listen again to him as it tells me he’s all about himself and intimidated over a fellow believer.

The first thing I would do is call him. Take your husband and have a private conversation with him. You might be surprised to hear what he has to say and then go from there. The last you needed to do was get on Tiktok and spread division amongst an already divided church right now. There could be a plethora of reasons why he didn't say anything and there may have only been one. You won't know until you have that conversation with him. God may have told him to be still and not say anything until the Lord released him from that command. I honestly don't know, but if it's bothering you this much, go talk to your pastor. If it's not a good reason , you have alternatives, but don't make any decisions until after you have prayed about it and actually talked to the man.

Find a new church. The Pastor at my church talked about it yesterday and it was a powerful message. He said: “It’s not us vs them, it’s not red vs blue… it’s Kingdom vs darkness”. He mentioned Iryna and the school shootings too, not just Charlie but evil as a whole. 🙏🏼

He SHOULD HAVE brought it up. My Pastor had beautiful moments on Sunday over Charlie Kirk. We were celebrating 20 years and my Pastor changed it all up from, message, decorations and all of it due to what happened. He said, how do we celebrate on Sunday with what just happened. Celebrating can come anytime. God will move you, just trust Him.❤
