7018 for anything structural. its more malleable. anything 6011 6013 6010 8010 its brittle. which is a digging rod. meant for a root then cap with 7018. 1/8 7018 run it at 125 to 135amps which ever your comfortable with 3/32 run at 88amps.

Lower heat and slower passes. I am aware that the video is sped up. I can see the breaks in the weld which means it's too hot and too fast

When setting up a machine , I always suggest having a scrap piece to run some passes to get er good before you weld on the good piece

You did great man! Maybe a bit fast on the travel speed but it should hold. Having them not line up is by design, that way your fingers don’t get bumped by the chain on the other side😜

Put your rod at a 45degree angle, slow down. And do a pull then push motion. I ain’t no expert but works for me 👍🏽
