People are going to collapse the complexity of this into “oh, groypers are trans” which will get flipped to “trans people are groypers” which will then get picked up by the right as “see, trans people are the real violent racists, so we need to classify them as a terror group and pass laws against them.” I mean, that’s already what they’re saying, but they’ll say it more I guess, and more moderate people in the center will be much more likely to sign on.

This is suddenly making SO much sense why the right is talking about dangerous trans ideology. It’s not the out and proud drag queens or trans activists, it’s the chronically emotionally stunted men online who are “turning” trans as a response to not knowing how to deal with societies lack of support and social systems for these young men. It’s making their thinking make so much more sense now. But also, the answer would be creating better social systems that support and help these men, not double down on violence.
