@theautoimmunicorn: Big emotions on a Monday! I think being seen without my mask is more about the discomfort of confronting the reality of my situation, and my heartbreak about it. And my nervous system is like mmm let’s avoid that as much as possible. We’re kinda taxed at the moment. 😅 I don’t really care what people think. I care what I feel. And I feel sad. The mask sorta helps me pretend this isn’t what’s happening. Sharing here has been great practice for me. Thanks for listening. This is cathartic. ❤️🩹 #h#hidradenitissuppurativaa#acnec#chronicillnessH#HealingJourneyh#holistichealth
Been there… please try accutane. It is strong but the only way I got rid of cystic acne. Also proactive. People who never experienced this don’t realize what we miss because we hide.

I first learned about hidradenitis supportive when helping patients apply for disability in hospitals. most of them were in the burn icu. the experience brought such empathy in me and I have never forgotten these patients. try and give yourself grace and non-judgmental stance💛💛💛

After COVID I never even notice when someone is wearing a mask! I promise you that no one is questioning you, you have to do what makes you feel best! And if right now wearing a mask makes you feel best that’s totally ok! It WILL get better!!!

My daughter had cystic acne for years. After 6 years I allowed her to go on Accutane. She was on it for 10 months. Her skin is beautiful now and she is so happy. Please try it.

I'm so sorry you're going through this and hope it gets better asap. People really don't understand how debilitating cystic acne is. Just smiling causes pain. We are here for you and wishing you well!

Many people wear masks for all sorts off reasons. Whether they have had an organ transplant, a stroke and have facial paralysis, Bell’s palsy or have severe allergies. No one is usually thinking why a person has a mask on. You are brave for doing all that you are doing! We are listening! 🩷

I have psoriasis all over my face, while I can keep the dry skin managed but I have giant red splotches all over my face. Went to the grocery store without tons of makeup yesterday. People stared. It felt awful. I feel you. Hopefully it gets better 💙

What I have found, people don’t care. They are all so worried about themselves and hardly notice you have a mask on. You are beautiful! Never let anyone tell you any different. 🥰

I’ve been on accutane twice. Once in my early twenties and again in my mid thirties. It was a godsend not to have painful, disfiguring nodules erupting on my face!
