@mrdelawareshupe: Language Matters: The “Freedom to Read” Act? HB 13 is being sold as the Freedom to Read Act — but here’s the reality: The majority party has created a state-controlled library review board, made up of the Secretary of Education, state officials, and state librarians. This board limits who can challenge books in local libraries and schools. That means the authority is no longer in the hands of our local librarians — the people who know our communities best. Instead, the state gets to decide which books can or cannot be in our local libraries. Ironically, local librarians themselves have spoken out against this law. Yet, the Governor and the majority party are still trying to sell it as “freedom.” Words matter. Real freedom means local control and keeping our libraries filled with diverse books that truly reflect our communities.
When my state says it's better than our own community to decide what we can read then you should be scared of the bigger picture

How about, it’s a crazy idea, people just don’t check out books that they don’t agree with and watch what their kids check out. Done. If you want freedom to choose, that is actual freedom…not banning books.

Government bloat and waste yet again. What was wrong with the current process that we now need to pay government to do the same thing...

Google Sarah Mcbride I am jazz. Mcbride is the Trans US Congressman in Delaware reading a book called I am jazz to elementary school kids in Maryland. I am jazz is a book about a young boy wanting to be a girl. This is blatant grooming and that is what this is all about. Stop the grooming of kids and LEAVE THE KIDS ALONE.
