Program Makanan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) di Kecamatan Tinangkung, Kabupaten Banggai Kepulauan, Sulawesi Tengah, berujung petaka. Ratusan siswa dari tingkat SD, SMP, hingga SMA dilaporkan mengalami keracunan massal setelah menyantap makanan yang dibagikan pada Rabu (17/9/2025) kemarin. Insiden ini diduga kuat berasal dari menu ikan cakalang yang menjadi bagian dari paket makanan gratis tersebut. Gejala keracunan seperti mual, muntah, dan pusing mulai dirasakan para siswa tidak lama setelah makan siang. Hingga Kamis (18/9/2025) pagi, data sementara mencatat sekitar 200 siswa telah menjadi korban. Sebagian di antaranya harus dilarikan ke RSUD Trikora Salakan untuk mendapatkan perawatan medis intensif karena gejala yang cukup parah. Untuk mengantisipasi lonjakan pasien, Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) Banggai Kepulauan telah bertindak cepat dengan mendirikan tenda darurat di halaman depan rumah sakit. Langkah ini diambil untuk memastikan seluruh korban dapat tertangani dengan baik. Diketahui, program MBG pada hari itu dibagikan kepada sekitar 3.000 siswa di wilayah tersebut.
