@Burger King - staff wiping spilt milk back into my milkshake with their hands! I encountered one of the strangest and most concerning experiences at Burger King Lynnwood, Pretoria, the other day. I ordered a milkshake and watched as the employee prepared it in what already seemed like a very unconventional way, placing the ice cream and flavouring directly into the takeaway cup, adding milk, and stirring it together. However, while preparing my milkshake, the employee spilled milk onto the counter and proceeded to sweep it back into my cup with his bare hands. 😲 When I confronted him about what I had just witnessed, he initially denied it. I then insisted that the CCTV footage be reviewed, at which point I was eventually apologised to. Unfortunately, that was not the only issue. I explained that I was not prepared to pay more simply because the restaurant had run out of the correct-sized cups. I asked whether they could simply use a medium cup but put the appropriate quantity of milkshake in it. It took approximately 10 minutes to resolve something that should have been incredibly simple. Then came the final issue. The milkshake I ordered was advertised on the menu with caramel sprinkles, prominently displayed in a large photograph that any customer would reasonably expect to represent what they are purchasing. After everything that had already happened, I was then told that they no longer stock caramel sprinkles. I insisted that they provide the advertised topping because, quite simply, if a product is advertised with a specific topping, customers should receive what they have been shown and are paying for. I was eventually offered some alternative sprinkles. So I have to ask: Is this genuinely the standard of service and food preparation at this particular Burger King, or is this how things are routinely handled? I understand that mistakes happen. What I do not understand is an employee handling food in this manner, denying what happened when confronted, and then expecting the customer to simply accept multiple issues with the product and service. I strongly suggest that management review the CCTV footage and address the food-handling practices at this branch. This is not about receiving the wrong sprinkles or having to use a bigger cup. The hygiene issue is the part that should concern everyone. P.S.
