He’s 1000% correct when wholesalers would start putting up banners open to the public and their early 1990s when Home Depot was expanding in southern California all you would hear was rhetoric from the Supply house and Home Depot no questions on return

if you’re short, one piece, go to Home Depot. If you’re doing a full material takeoff for your project go to a supply house you’ll save about 10% and they’ll have everything in stock

I work at one of the bigger supply houses and we definitely work to have what our main customers need and build relationships and have very fair pricing

You get discounts at supply houses based on VOLUME purchasing , small contractors get pissed they dont get the same price as the guy who’s buying over a million a year
