I’ve lived here 37 years and driven that tunnel hundreds of times, and moving to Ladner in 2 weeks and will use the tunnel every day, and have never seen it from this view! Awesome!

What messes with my head is .The tunnel doesn’t seem to go very deep in relatively to the what th assumed depth of the water . Like just how little earth is between the tunnel and the bottom of the river ? 🤔

Back in June 1962 my parent VW stalled at the toll booth heading to the grace hospital . Mom was in active labour. If my dad hadn’t got the VW started I would have been born in the south end of the tunnel

The tunnel isn’t dug out under the river. It is a row of open-ended boxes laid end to end on or in the silty river bed. If I remember correctly.

and thanks to the 65,000 jobs at the Kitimat LNG projects and now expansions nothing is getting built anywhere else. The new tunnel will be ready in about 20 years
