to answer your question: yes, it using space would make your bread taste different. But that’s only because the yeast would be dead after going into space, thus resulting in an unleavened and dense bread. The only way for yeast to survive in space is to be a dormant dried state, unlike the yeast you bake with.

south African here. i usually have 2 batches of syrup. rotating them between using and resting in the freezer. also dip them directly when pulling them out of the oil. and work in small batches.
