Here’s how to make the most of a day at Kings Canyon National Park. These stops give you a mix of stunning views, peaceful trails, and must-see landmarks. Save this for your next trip! 1️⃣ 3 PM: Set Up Camp at Azalea Campground Start your day by getting your camp set up. This spot is nestled in the forest and close to some of the park’s best trails and landmarks. It’s also a great place to unwind after a day of exploring. 2️⃣ 4 PM: Grant Grove Trail (0.8 miles, easy) This short loop takes you to some of the park’s most famous trees, including the General Grant Tree (the second-largest tree in the world!). It’s an easy walk that’s perfect for all skill levels. 3️⃣ Kings Canyon Scenic Byway (50 miles one way) This scenic drive is absolutely breathtaking. You’ll follow the canyon carved by the Kings River, with plenty of pull-offs for epic views. Plan for around 1-2 hours, depending on how often you stop. 4️⃣ Kings River The Kings River is a peaceful spot to take a break, dip your feet in, or enjoy the sound of rushing water. It’s the heart of the canyon and feels so peaceful. 5️⃣ Grizzly Falls (0.1 miles, very easy) Right off the scenic byway, this quick walk gets you to a beautiful 80-foot waterfall. It’s a perfect stop to cool off with the mist and snap a few photos. 6️⃣ Roaring River Falls (0.3 miles, easy) Another short trail leads to this powerful waterfall. The sound alone is mesmerizing, and the short walk makes it an easy addition to your day. 7️⃣ Zumwalt Meadow (1.5 miles, easy to moderate) This peaceful loop trail is a highlight of Kings Canyon. You’ll walk through lush meadows, past granite cliffs, and along the river. It’s one of those spots where you’ll want to slow down and soak it all in. I definitely recommend going there for sunset! 8️⃣ Spot Wildlife Keep an eye out for deer, birds, or even the occasional bear (from a safe distance). The best times for spotting wildlife are early mornings or evenings. Kings Canyon is packed with incredible views and unforgettable experiences. Let me know if you’ve been or if it’s on your list. Which of these would you do first? 🌲 #nationalparks #backpacking #Hiking #kingscanyon #sequoia #yosemite
