These six supplications are incredibly powerful, often referred to as
These six supplications are incredibly powerful, often referred to as "treasures" from the Quran and Sunnah. Each one addresses a specific state of the heart and human need. 1. Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakeel • The Attribute: Complete Reliance (Tawakkul). • Context: This was said by Ibrahim (AS) when he was thrown into the fire and by the companions of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) when facing a massive army. • Benefit: It is the ultimate remedy for fear and anxiety. It shifts the burden from your shoulders to Allah, acknowledging that He is the Best Disposer of affairs. 2. La ilaha illa anta, subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-zalimeen • The Attribute: The Prayer of Yunus (AS) / Repentance. • Context: Known as Dhul-Nun’s prayer, said from the belly of the whale. • Benefit: The Prophet (ﷺ) said that no Muslim supplicates with this for anything except that Allah responds. It combines the Oneness of Allah (Tawheed), His perfection, and a humble admission of our own mistakes. 3. Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khairin faqeer • The Attribute: Extreme Need and Humility. • Context: Said by Musa (AS) after helping the daughters of Shuaib. He was homeless, hungry, and a fugitive. • Benefit: Shortly after saying this, Musa (AS) was granted a home, a job, and a wife. It is a beautiful way to ask for "any good" when you don't even know what you need most. 4. Wa lam akun bidu’aika rabbi shaqiyya • The Attribute: Optimism and Hope. • Context: Said by Zakariya (AS) in Surah Maryam while asking for a child in his old age. • Benefit: It means, "And never have I been, in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy/disappointed." It is an appeal to Allah’s past kindness—reminding yourself that He has always been good to you, so He won't stop now. 5. Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum... aslih li sha’ni kullahu • The Attribute: Total Surrender. • Context: A morning and evening dhikr recommended by the Prophet (ﷺ). • Benefit: It asks Allah to rectify every part of your life (spiritual, financial, emotional) and begs Him not to leave you to your own devices for even the "blink of an eye." 6. La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah • The Attribute: The Treasure of Paradise. • Benefit: This is an admission that we have no power to change a situation or strength to perform an act except through Allah. It is a "gate" to relief when you feel completely stuck or overwhelmed. Which of these attributes resonates most with what you are feeling right now? #dua #supplications
