Evanescence-tourniquet The song revolves around a desperate person on the edge of suicide, crying out to God and seeking salvation. The title Tourniquet (the pressure band) is usually used to stop bleeding. ‏The lyrics are filled with feelings of guilt, fear of death, and loss. ‏The song reflects someone who has ended their life or is in the moment right after suicide. ‏There is a contradiction between the guilt of committing “the greatest sin” (since suicide is considered a major sin in Christianity) and the hope that God is merciful and will forgive. ‏The song is not just a “sad song,” but rather a cry of inner pain a dialogue between a broken human being with himself and with God, searching for salvation even in the darkest moments of despair. #evanescence #fallen #gothicmetal #alternativemetal #metal - @the_0athkeeper
