Heavy on the extra large enclosures! I have my pair of parakeets in a cage that I’ve seen people shove an Amazon in. The parakeets have actual room to FLY.

Oh no doubt about the toys! I have 4 medium birds and have $250 set aside each month for toys. And none of them like the same type.

Yes, a lifestyle choice: incredible creatures to love!! (Besides the criminal side, is the ignorance and callousness of the 'beings/humans' who capture them in often deadly, horrific, and traumatic ways.) These birds are blessed.

I’m incredibly clingy with my pets so I would love one who is equally clingy, and with a human lifespan. I have a rabbit now who’s 13 so I’m no stranger to exotic pets and I think I take good care of him. He used to be really aloof but he’s glued to me now it’s perfect. I literally wake up with him next to me waiting for cuddles. If only he would live as long as a macaw 😭

I was being given a macaw but I found out he had aids and I was wondering how that would affect my other birds, I did see it was untreatable but I just don’t know how severe it would be
