I’m with you. I’m so sick of the level that capitalism has gotten to where corporations are nickel and diming EVERYTHING. Everything has to be a subscription. Everything is just extra greedy. 😫

My best friend is an MD who works for a large hospital. Their new guidelines are if a patient even mentions depression, bill for a second visit for mental health. Mentions allergies, bill for a third visit for this etc. they were told patients won’t get mad because they don’t see the bills. In reality a lot of people have huge coinsurance % so it matters a lot

Women have been dealing with this since always. We have to pay for a pregnancy test for everything. Yes, even if our partner is also female. Yes, even if you're on your period. Yes, even if your fallopian tubes have been removed and yes, even if you have had a full hysterectomy.

I am, to a degree, blaming the doctors. They're frequently complicit in the brokenness, and have some pretty serious leverage with insurance companies, that none (few?) of them are using.

Dispute that! It is not an alcohol screening. They need a whole form but some providers like to try to charge it anyway. THIS IS ILLEGAL.

it depends on the office, some offices charge $50-60 for it some only charge .01 (yes that is correct 1 penny). there are no cost regulations for it in the insurance world
