I just fried the extension piece. the surge protector didn't even pop. the base still works but the extension is done. so for others to avoid same mistake, don't plug in any high voltage appliances.

You will also need a charging cable that can handle a 100 watt transmission rate other wise you will not be able to take advantage of the fast charge!
