Spain introduced menstrual leave in 2023. If a woman has severe period pain, they can get up to 3 paid days off (sometimes 5), but they need a doctor’s note. It’s the first country in Europe to do it, but not everyone qualifies and hardly anyone’s used it so far.

As a female director with endo, if one of my direct reports comes to me with this I’m like “byeeee to take care of yourself” and then bring them a lil dark chocolate the next day ✨

I’m a manager and I always let the girls take the day off or work from home with cramps. Whichever they want! This should be normalized.
