I get everyone saying get him to sign a waiver, but in today’s time so many people will just drag your business through the mud once they realize they can’t sue you, and unless you can amass irrefutable evidence that someone maliciously and intentionally intended to defame you and your business you can’t do anything. Just food for thought.

Yes, I have a bunch of customers like that. I think they know everything and they tell you how to do it and when it doesn’t come out right or a crack or whatever happens, it’s your fault.

I would tell him, "you're the customer and if that's what you want we can do it, however let me write up a quick note stating that you, as a customer and not a professional contractor, wants to go against my recommendation regardless of safety and or quality price and warranty. I will take a video of both of us signing it, date it, and a picture of signed document. If you feel comfortable with that, I'm willing to go in the direction of your request". If their intention was to scam you then that should deter them right there, if they are just the annoying type that just want their way well there you go, at least you can take that to court
