@danthecarpenterman609: Proper Vapor Barrier Installation for Vinyl Flooring Over Concrete Slab We talk about the importance of properly installing a vapor barrier when laying vinyl flooring over a concrete slab. The instructions typically call for a 6-mil poly sheeting, with the seams overlapped by at least 6 inches, taped, and rolled up the wall. Failing to follow these steps can lead to issues like seam buckling and voiding the warranty, as the speaker learned from personal experience. #constructiontiktok #protips #homerenovation #flooring #vaporbarrier

Or hear me out, buy flooring with barrier already integrated, its cheaper than adding plastic. mine said if you put a barrier under it it would void the warranty

you are 100% correct.
the only time you would not need this, if you were on the second floor and it was concrete, you don't need it. it is critical though when it slab on grade.

How about sealing the slab foundation first with rubberized paint and adding dimple board. Would you still put a vapor barrier? Maybe just add a pousor sealant to slow the moisture? 🤔 Thank you

another thing I do on all invoices , water resistant , not waterproof. I don't care what the boxes say . I've had several customers ask if the floor is water resistant then why do the floor need a vapor barrier ? I don't like explaining after the sale .
