Over 70% of Israelie Jews descend from the Middle East. During the Ottoman Empire and before radical Islam, they lived throughout the Middle East. With the fall of the OE, and rise of more radicalism, most of them, if they were able to survive long enough, made it to Israel.

It is important for us American Jews to always remember this. We ended up in America largely as a result of luck & leaving earlier. Many of our Israeli brothers & sisters had it even harder than most of us American Jews did in our shared tragedy & ended up in Israel because that was the only place they could go. They will always be there for our physical well-being & we must always be there for their physical well-being too.
