Like they tell us, crocodile tears. As an ex anxious attacher, I don't think they have any emotionally deep feelings. They love the dopamine rush of a new relationship and a challenge. Authenticity means nothing, the deeper you are, the further they'll walk. The pain an avoidant causes, is so hateful. I personally, doubt they ever cry over you. I still wish mine the best of everything, but they already had that and will NEVER GET IT. Love your posts, this is one I Question. 😍

My ex looks like she just finished crying at every exchange of our kid. I want to ask her so bad if she’s ok but I know she doesn’t want that.

Mine wept like a woman the day I left. Said he loved me and I was his best friend. I will never understand it but I have come to accept it even though I’m upset it took him 4 years to decide this.

In my case, even though he became more and more emotionally distant and kept pushing me away, there were moments when he let me behind the walls and showed or talked about the chaos, confusion, and doubt that existed beneath his distant surface. When we broke up, we both cried a lot — his last words were, ‘I’m so sorry.’ I know there were real feelings behind those tears — and that’s the cruelest part of it all.
