Ok so here’s what you’re missing - the first amendment does not protect you from consequences of your speech. It protects you from the federal government retaliating against you for your speech. What happened with Jimmy Kimmel is the FCC- say it with me now…FEDERAL..aka the government - threatened a private entity, ABC- with retribution if they didn’t cancel the show. Do you see the difference? The government interfering in the free speech of anyone should scare you. There is a difference being cancelled in the court of public opinion and the government dictating what counts as free speech.

we the people need to stay honest and true. Kimmel (who i dont agree with) wasn't given a fair shake. apparently Trump (government) went to the FCC (government) and demanded ABC to terminate Kimmels media. without spite, without malice, this ends up being wrong

The threat from the FCC is the problem. People can be fired for what they say but the government can’t curtail or threaten retribution. That’s what happened here.
