this only works on straight leg cuts, you'll have to tailer the side seams as well with any tapered or flared cuts, or if you're shortening a lot. Sometimes it's easier to just do a proper hem

Brilliant I had to learn to hand so in art school where they taught us every possible craft. And it was second only to learning carpentry in being able to take care of myself and my clothing and tailor it
