I think it mainly depends on where you are, sure if you’re just posting your look on the internet you have to be really different to be considered alternative but most businesses still dont hire people with colored hair. I never think I’m very alt unless I’m dressed up but I still get stared at when I wear jeans and a T shirt 😓😓

This issue made me stop wanting to dress goth entirely. I dressed that way as a statement and an expression of self. Now it’s a fetish and something that normies have co-opted to look “cool” and feel special. Practically everyone is “alternative” now. It means nothing anymore
