Dear Jelly Roll, I am reaching out with a heavy heart and deep respect to ask something truly meaningful. My brother, who had been a fan of yours and connected deeply with your music, tragically lost his life in a horrific car accident on September 16th, along with one of his close friends. His funeral will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 6:00 PM. in Woodbury, TN. My brother’s life was marked by an ongoing battle with addiction that began when he was only 13 years old. He faced inpatient and outpatient rehab, countless court dates, time in state custody, jail, and prison. Through it all, he struggled with the mental and emotional toll that addiction takes. Despite those battles, your music gave him—and us—comfort, strength, and a sense of being understood in ways few things ever could. It would mean the world to our family if you might consider singing at his funeral service. Your voice and your story reflect so much of what he lived through, and I can’t imagine a more fitting way to honor his life and struggles. I understand how many requests you receive, and I know this is asking a great deal. But if there is any way you could be part of this day, our family would be forever grateful.
