No, but it’s good! You are showing that you are thorough. Before I explain something in depth to a patient, I ask what they know already, then say that I will start with the basics and if it is too simple for them, to let me know. This way if I am speaking to a secret doctor, or a well educated patient, I don’t embarrass us both!

I think all good doctors at their heart are teachers. she was letting you do what you do. and I'm pretty sure she would have either told your attending if you were lacking anything. and since you haven't heard anything about it, I think she was impressed. congrats doctor.
