I love the way they explored the inevitability of doom from different perspectives. You have people like Kafei and Anju who choose to believe in love, the construction crew taskmaster who chooses to bury himself in work, Gorman drowned his sorrows in drinks at the bar. The whole game is an exploration of the inevitability of death, and it's beautiful. ❤

in the end, what can you do? waste what time you have left panicking? Better you keep going. routine is comforting. makes things feel normal, even when theyre not.

the best part is how conflicted so many of the characters are. do we evacuate and maybe live? or do we just go about our lives as normal? the swordsman who boldly proclaims he'll slice the moon in half, but then cowers in fear during the final hours. the argument in the mayors office. the postman wanting to flee but wanting to stay on his schedule. the guards giving a final salute in the final hours. grog being indifferent, just wanting to watch his cuckoos grow up. such an amazing game.
