I'd like to add for y'all's information that a spare tire is not a durable one. it is supposed to get you to the NEAREST garage in order to get a new tire, and it is NOT made to survive very long rides. if you pop your spare tire, you're stuck.

As someone who travels a lot and has experience changing tires, here are a few tips: When the car is lifted, put the spare under it for safety in case the jack fails. If the lug nuts are stuck, use your foot with a quick, controlled push on the wrench to loosen them. If you need to drive longer with the spare, it’s safer not to use it on the drive wheels (the ones that move the car — front on FWD, rear on RWD). For AWD/4x4 cars you don’t need this step. In that case, move a regular tire to the drive position and put the spare on the non-drive axle. Always follow the speed limit written on the spare tire.
