my dad did that for years, but in a small village so he called every family to ask if they wanted bread that week, we kids wrapped the breads in thin paper with the familys name written on and then delivered them going door to door with a handwagon

I've been doing something similar but on a monthly basis. so week one it's cookies, week 2 it's small apple pie week 3 it's brownies, week 4 it's cake pops. if there are 5 weeks in a month I'll make a surprise. and sometimes there are seasonal things like Halloween cookies or Christmas bakes. or maybe strawberry muffins. but it's simple predictable and people keep coming because it's not the same every week.
