A lot of you don’t know this but “The Maxx” is actually not at all about superheroes the Maxx is actually just a really big mentally ill homeless man named Dave who Julie hit with her car something happened between them and Dave realized Julie was like him mentally struggling and needed a protector so he became “the Maxx” which in reality is a purple lamp shade that became his mask and Mr Gone the villain is actually a friend of Julie’s father who knew about her mental condition since she was a kid and used it to well grape her, in the show/comic it’s stated to be a hitchhiker who was actually Mr gone who “shapeshifted” idk what that’s a metaphor for but I know it was her fathers friend aka Mr gone aka the bad guy who is a serial grapist/stalker, the ending her is symbolic for them surpassing their trauma and healing into normal functioning people
