Capitol Records did the same thing to Sky Ferreira and ruined her career. after 10 years, she’s finally free of them but at what cost? She doesn’t have the fan base of Taylor Swift or the financial means of Taylor Swift so getting independent music out for her is incredibly hard now.

Independent artists and smaller independent labels which give artists way more control over their own music are gonna be the future of music moving forward. This cannot keep happening. Would not be surprised if some independent artists and labels will start rivaling the major labels in net worth.
