I'm almost 7 years post Gastric Bypass surgery I've lost 350+ pounds and still losing. That type of surgery is NOT for children. I feel so bad for that child. He's sheer panic is heartbreaking. 😭

I think the Egyptian doctor mentioned that the child was unable to lose weight because of a certain condition and the obesity was starting to change the way her bones grow and she had a lot of joint pain as well so the surgery was the best solution

As a kid whose parents started me on a diet at the age of 7. I ended up developing severe restrictive ed. Been in and out of treatment for years. Not even weight gain but she could develop an ed. I knew so many women in treatment wo had WLS in treatment for ed’s. 9 is just too young.

I was big my entire life I have had 2 wls second was not gain it was reflux. With both I got so sick and bypass almost took me out I guarantee if I was 9 I’d be dead! It’s a NO for me

Im surprised he didn’t mention but kid go through growth stouts so most like she would have eventually lost the weight from that the calorie demand for a child is a lot less than for an adult she hadn’t even started puberty yet which idk about yall but the hormone changes cause me to have less of an appetite I was 140 as a kid which made me look very fat but at my late teens year I was 136lbs and was skinny but the point is still there weight at one age looks very different than the same weight at another age
