But look at the difference for each month’s check on the RSA site. For me, after 25 years teaching, Option 1’s check was not so much more than Option 2 so that’s what we went with. Luckily, my husband works for our county & is in ERS. I am on his insurance and was before I retired because it was cheaper and better than the system’s. Side note: You can only change your beneficiary if your designated one passes.
