First time ever at a yoga class and everyone freaked out when I went into a lotus position. Apparently it's rare and difficult. It's my preferred sitting position lmao

I drive an automatic and recently been struggling with wanting to put my (no driving) leg up in a lotus pose. As soon as I do it I put it down again cos I figure it’s not a safe way to drive, but it feels so much more comfortable!

Oh. I thought I was just doing all the stretches wrong. Hamstrings were the only one that ever felt like a stretch...

I know I’m hyper mobile, but it still always surprises me when I find out what a normal range of motion is…cause what??? Like what do you mean most people can’t bend that way

I always thought stretching before gym or dance team practice was just a formality. I never had any resistance. 🤣

OK, so one of my legs can do it without feeling a stretch, but the other one can’t

I remember being so confused by stretching in gym class. I felt NOTHING! I didn’t really understand at the time that other people COULD feel the stretch. I very carefully tried to do some of these maneuvers in this video, and still felt no sensation of pull.

Reminds me of being a kid in P.E. when we'd have to reach for our toes and being like whats even the point bc i can STILL put my whole hand on the ground. I was always concerned why i was so much more flexible than others😭

Yup I think you diagnosed me with just this video. I thought for many years this was just normal because I am a former figure skater and dancer. My rheumatologist recommended I get dna tested for hEDS. Working on strength changed my life! PT has been and continues to be a part of my healing ❤️‍🩹

That explains so much! My husband was trying to show me some stretches and I couldn't feel anything really stretching like he did, even when I went a lot further.
