Milly’s Place has had over 40,000 dollars (and counting) in vet bills the last 6 weeks - most of which was emergent interventions. Everything happened all at once, it feels. Asking 4,000 people to donate 5 dollars to help Milly’s Place with their astronomical vet bill for Petey. Petey’s bills account for about 1/2 of the 40k. Petey the donkey’s emergency surgery, hospitalization and now REhospitalization has been turbulent to say the least. Petey is back in the hospital and metabolically crashing We could REALLY use this community of animal lovers and advocates right now. WilsonHaus has teamed up to help raise funding and awareness for their cause. To make this first goal happen by Christmas, we need 4,000 people to donate just 5 dollars. We have a goal to raise at least 1/2 of the vetting by Christmas - which is a HUGE, huge and daunting goal. The reality is that vet bills can escalate quickly. That is part of rescue, and unfortunately, Milly’s Place has had some heavy cases that came one after the other. In order to go into 2025 and continue intakes and helping more equine in need, the first thing that has to happen is this massive fundraiser has to be covered. To make it more manageable, we have divided the fundraiser into four phases of 10k each Our goal is by Christmas to raise PHASE 1 and PHASE 2 (that is just 4,000 people donating 5 dollars) And by January 19th to raise PHASE 3 and PHASE 4 (again, just 4,000 people donating 5 dollars) Why January 19th? Because access to Tiktok is likely going to be banned in the U.S. This is actually terrifying for all of the rescues I ,work with. Tiktok has helped us fundraise and save so many animals. For the first time in a while, I am nervous. This ban is going to hit WilsonHaus and my collaborative rescues hard. For the next month, I will be fundraising as much as I can in preparation.
