Got pihole purely to setup local domain registrations, and a little nginx reverse proxy to allow me to access all my local sites with just a local domain url without the port! Haven't quite figured out how to do it with the proxmox dashboard though. All internal only, no ports forwarded on the router.

trying to use a wireless pi for this and I'm not sure how to run it headless. I installed the OS onto it but don't know what to do next since obviously booting to the pi OS I installed from the site wasn't the right thing to do... haha

Why pihole if technitium dns allows the same and more (automations, dns zones). Maintaining pihole is awful in the end..

I'm running my pihole on a pi but in a docker container static IP is assigned in the docker compose file. Router is pointed at the pihole to manage the DHCP assignments and DNS.

great vid as always. it's a great that I came across this vid I am trying to make use of my pi 2 and I was thinking of pi hole and wireguard to install on so I can access the network from outside. do you recommend any other useful app for pi 2 keeping in mind it does not have alot of fire power

I set up a pihole pc on Thursday and it was super easy! for anyone worried. it is not that scary. I used an hp pro desk 400 and it works great

But what’s the advantage over something like adguard where they use and give out a free dns to block ads? I use it and it great I was going to set up a pihole until I saw this public dns

I have just got AdGuardHome up and running to manage DNS and DHCP. Next phase is to add libvirt and pfsense and switch DHCP to that and also add Wireguard VPN

If you lazy you can use the raspberry pi imager to install pihole directly to the sd kart
