@bluehorizondiving: Staying dry while scuba diving! 🤿 I love my drysuit because I hate being cold and it allows me to stay dry and therefore much warmer when I dive. However, there was a definite learning curve for the first few dives! Buoyancy is different in a drysuit as you need to add air to the suit to combat suit squeeze due to compressing air. Because of this, there is an extra hose to remember on your gear which connects to your drysuit and inflates the same as your BCD. You also have a valve to remove excess air as it expands on the way up- same as a BCD. There are two main ways to use a dry suit. The first is to use only the suit for buoyancy underwater. This is great for new drysuit users as it means they only have one piece of equipment to worry about expanding air. The other was used your drysuit to combat squeeze and uses your BCD for the buoyancy. This way means you must remember to deflate both the drysuit and the bcd. Both ways work!
