If she likes messy play.. paint or something colourful for the feet let her go tonto on white paper or foil or whatever.. and measure those😂♥

I must say I’ve never measured any of my kids feet 🤣 my parents used to do mine and I never saw the point. I still had to try the shoe on. I just went up a size and shoved them on 🤣 but that’s just me xxx

My son (ASD) used to be like this with getting his feet measured but he has got better as he has got older and this year he let them do it with no problems.

Maybe they need to physically measure at some places but I trace my daughter’s on paper and measure it.

Does it help her to see others do things? I used to work in a shoe shop & we'd stay open after closing for kids who struggled with the experience & measuring Mum or Dads feet sometimes helped depending on needs. Tracing round feet is also an option ❤

something that changed my life as a SEN mum is realising how much I could do whilst she sleeps - I clean her ears, brush her hair, cut her nails, apply cream, all sorts whilst she's snoozing 🤣 so could be worth trying to measure her feet whilst she sleeps!

Use a plastic straw when she’s asleep put the bendy part on her heel and snip the straw at her toes and it will fit the inside of the corresponding shoe size. (Fellow ASD mum. There are videos on here if you search straw shoe size I’m sure they will come up.) Hope that helps. ☺

I got of those measuring things for home to get them used to it, I would recommend trying. People dont realise how the simplest tasks can be so so much harder

(not all do) but if they like paint texture. paint their feet onto paper ....cut it out and take it with you to see if the shoes will fit.
