I used to work with balloons, it's the helium! its a non renewable resource and fluctuates in price per demand. it's used in hospitals and for the military so balloons are low priority and tend to be prices pretty high.

I do dollar tree every time!!! Especially for the normal balloons. They’re always out of the number I need so I get it from Publix bc it’s only like $11

i spent 146.00 on just the helium for the balloons at our daughter and son in laws gender reveal. i ordered them online didn't think ahead and they charged me for however much they charged for that size balloon. i was shocked

The most that those letter balloons should be is ten dollars and those normal black balloons, those are called latex balloons and those are usually only 2 or 3 dollars

Helium is expensive, but no that was a rip off. If you would have taken your own balloons to 5 below it would have been $1 each for the latex and $10 for the numbers. So like $30
