If anyone struggling, wait a second after your board hits the ground, then drag the right stick down. This worked for me

so basically you pull your joystick (right) half way down, then pull out your board, after your board is FULLY on the ground pull your joystick all the way down, then if your character is t posing, do a random emote and it should work
