Great info!! Not enough people talk about Intermittent FMLA which can be greatly beneficial and not as stressful as continous FMLA. If you need off a day or two every week or every other week (it can vary greatly) WITH job protection, it's worth looking into. Note: You still have to go through the same approval process.

I know someone who is 8 mos pregnant. she gave the completed FMLA to the employer. The doc said she work from home due to high risk. Her employer then tried to get her to sign a form releasing med records. She told them the doc already filled it out. it is extremely upsetting for her.

What about if your employer covers health insurance? I have my portion but my employer pay the most part. So, on FMLA should the employer still pay their portion bc I’m still employed or am I responsible for 100% of the premiums during that time off?

Okay so question I want to take my maternity leave in Nov I have to do short term disability and then PFL after because my job only gives 6 weeks 8 if I have a C-section, can I also use FMLA concurrently with the short term disability and get paid more ?

Where was this video back in July my job fired me at 13 weeks pregnant & made it seem like it was because of attendance then tried to fight against my unemployment benefits because they didn’t want their insurance rates to go up 😑

As HR I often reminds our employees that they can use their PTO concurrently with FMLA. I make sure as well to prepare their STD paperwork as well before their leave date. They deserve to know their rights and money.

As a Case Manager for Short Term Disability and FMLA, I agree. Most delays are due to doctors not completely filling out the paperwork or sending in by the deadlines. Then employees get mad at us. It is the employees responsibility to followup with their provider to ensure completion.

I take a mental leave every 1250 hrs ( per year) I protect my peace at all cost because working at Walmart is like working on a plantation. ✊🏾✌🏾I have STD and LTD and I have a good relationship with my physician. Plus I get therapy regularly with my license psychiatrist.
