Do you like those as well as the old style with the can?

they need to make an oversize trim to cover old paint rings and slope cans

Any issues with removing the old cans and assorted junk from interior recessed lights and using these? It seems not since you pulled the old box for these. Asking for a friend, not for my kitchen at all. 🙂

those tabs stink, great if it’s thin drywall but get a real house with plaster lath and tabs don’t work

Do these wafers fit in a halo rough in trim plate? I’ve thought about switching over to them for cost efficiency vs Rab wafers. I usually use the halo rough in plates during a rough in.

Six is better than four. The old wafers remind me a lot of the basic disc (flushmounts) lights we install on spec home. Wafers wise we use RAB. They’re awesome, but suck having to install brackets for them in new construction; still better than cans though.😂

I like the newer over the og style. Not as bulky and dont require a box. I have several dozen I bought at auction to have stock for upcoming projects.

Yeah I’ve installed these before too. Wasn’t a big fan of them but kudos to those trying. But I remember back in the day the old school cans. The progress lighting type garbage and those long 4 foot drill bits because where I’m from in Philadelphia we never had strapping going perpendicular with the framing members. We would just close our eyes and pray that we don’t hit a water pipe
