@elaineabonal: As a surfer, surf coach, and long-time resident of Siargao, I’ve always believed the ocean should be accessible to everyone. 🌊 In General Luna, you can still find this public access from the road, just look for the alleyway next to Starbooks. Walk through and you’ll see the sign that leads straight to the beach. The lack of public access in Siargao has been a long-standing problem for locals and residents. I’ve talked about this before, and I’ll say it again: beaches are public, and we should all share access points with each other. Every alley, path, and reef holds meaning for the community. But with access comes responsibility. If we refuse to pay in restaurants or resorts, we should at least respect the beach by bringing our trash with us. This isn’t just our playground, it’s home for marine life too. 🐠 A big thank you to Siago Resort for being generous and providing this access. Resorts should set an example like this - honoring public beach access for tourists and locals instead of blocking it off for profit.
