He also instructed the Defence Ministry to supply tailored camouflaged uniforms to snipers this year. Kim Jong Un stated the KPA’s top war-prep task is implementing the Party’s training, ideology and equipment revolution policy to make special operations forces a core combat group. He called for accelerating equipment modernization and developing innovative warfare methods to gain an edge over other countries. He oversaw a sniper live-fire drill (praising their marksmanship: "No enemy will survive within their sight") and special operations personnel’s physical exercises, commending their combat readiness. He took photos with the soldiers—who cheered "Hurrah!" to pledge loyalty to the WPK Central Committee—and encouraged them: "You must make enemies tremble with fear whenever they see you." He also congratulated three outstanding snipers with individual photos, and posed with the sniper sub-unit’s officers and soldiers.
