I smelled it once and I got PTSD from it for a while. There's a reason they call it "the smell of death" because nothing else can describe it. It so disgusting it almost pierces your soul.

Yes the sweet part 😭 it’s sooo distinct you never forget it. I remember hearing it smelled a little sweet and I’m like what until I smelled it I’m like ohhhhh I get it now

It’s a smell you will never forget my mom died in her car and wasn’t found days later I went to the funeral home to be with her body and the smell was horrid it had different smells to it

It lingers forever. My poor dad was dead alone on the bathroom floor a good few days before he was found…. First time I went up after post (non professional) cleanup and went in there, I realised that smell was Not spoiled food in the fridge like I was told. Nostrils stained forever. Worst experience.

😭 I want to forget this smell. For three weeks I was smelling something weird in our house till one day the smell was so strong that me and my husband looked at each other and we both said “ it smells like d3ath “ he called the police and they found our neighbor d3ad for almost a month. The smell when they opened the dor and windows was HORRIFIC. Our house was smelling like that a lot of time . I was crying returning home because I knew a have to sleep again in that smell. This happened last month and I still can smell it doesn’t matter I washed everything in our house 😔😣

We are biologically programmed to find this smell repelling because we are programmed for survival and that smell is the opposite of survival; that’s why its almost traumatic for some, to smell it.
