No cus since becoming a ramper just finding a wheelchair in the cargo bin stresses me out so much. They're legit just placed with the luggage that gets thrown back and foward and i dont understand how planes are not equipped with compartments JUST for devices like these

It is insane that you can’t board a plane in your chair. We do it on buses and trains. Shameful of the industry.

This is why I bought a bag big enough to fit my son’s wheelchair and I wrap towels around the brake area. Too many times things were broken. It takes longer getting on or off the plane but nothing gets broken 🙏

💀😢 I get anxiety when flying - I had my first wheelchair broken flying...I didn't notice the side panels broke till I got home.

This freaks me out. Getting my evaluation this week and I cannot imagine what I’d do. I wonder if anyone has tried those big sound equipment cases with custom padding. It would probably be a million dollars

I'm glad it's just the brake but still it should never have happened, nor should you have to take the extenders off when handing your chair over to be put under and the hope the extenders don't disappear

It’s actually disgusting how many videos I’ve seen on this subject in the last maybe few weeks! That this is a reality for disabled individuals like myself. I currently don’t have the mobility aids that are appropriate for my needs and although I have at least some understanding on the barriers that can come with using a wheelchair, I also see the freedom and the positive behind having one and that is what I look forward to. When that time comes, if this were ever to happen to me, I would be devastated. How is their acceptance or awareness, when we have to second guess where we go and our travels due to accessibility issues, which just seems to widen the gap to close, for the opportunity to live as closely to how able bodied individuals do. In a realistic way of course. And accessibility issues make it less possible without real change. 🥹 I’m so sorry 🥹

Please make sure you report it to the airline!!!! They damaged mine and had to replace my frame for free and adjust my breaks

That’s so upsetting! I’m so sorry to hear that. I have siblings who need wheelchairs and I know how long it can take to get repairs/ a new chair. Definitely file a complaint!
