The Martinez family is from Oaxaca, Mexico and began with one taco truck in 2010, serving authentic al pastor in Mid-City. Their dedication quickly grew the venture into a local favorite, expanding across Los Angeles and into San Francisco.
Today, Leo’s Tacos Truck runs 14 trucks in L.A., one in San Francisco, and a new one launching in San Mateo this week, earning praise from major publications and loyal fans citywide.
Their al pastor is marinated with traditional spices, cooked on the signature trompo, and topped with the freshest ingredients—delivering an authentic taste of Mexico in every bite.
Watching the gentleman slice al pastor meat and pineapple off the trompo was lan entertaining show. And, seeing it glistening and caramelizing before my eyes was such a treat. Now, this is my first time trying authentic Al pastor tacos, so I’m sure there are more delicious ones out there. So, these tacos were a great introduction for me because the meat had great flavor, but of course adding onions, cilantro, salsa roja, pineapple, and lime was a game changer! And that strawberry agua fresa 🤦🏽♂️I could have 5 of those a day!
I’ll be back soon for more tacos al pastor and agua fresa de Fresca, plus chorizo tacos and more!
Go check them out ASAP and tell them I sent you!
