@pristyq: If it's your first time in Japan, there's nothing wrong with hitting the big three as everybody else does: Tokyo, kyoto Osaka. But if it's your second time and beyond, I implore you guys to go out and explore the rest of what Japan has to offer! Here's a list of places to visit that aren't the big three: 📍 Kamakura Only 1.5 hours away from Tokyo by train, Kamakura is the perfect summer day trip. The Enoden train by the sea is so picturesque and the temples bloom with hydrangeas in June 🥹 📍 Kamikochi This mountainous region is so beautiful and one of the very few places you can still see snow-capped alps in June! The streams here are so lush and clear too, and there are beginner friendly walking trails to embark on 🚶♀️ 📍 Matsumoto A quaint and lovely city with lots of homey cafes and local eats! It's also Yayoi Kusuma's hometown so make sure to check out the Matsumoto City Museum of Art where you can get to see her works. 📍 Suwa This city is home to Lake Suwa - the iconic lake that's said to be the one which inspired Kimi No Nawa's Itomori. Please visit Tateishi Park for the best view point of the lake!!! 📍 Azumino Cycling around this city really does make you feel like you're living inside a slice of life anime. It's filled with lush paddies and mountainous backdrops - truly an underrated gem 🤩 📍 Nagano City Easily accessible from Tokyo by Shinkansen, this city has some of the best cafes and local eats. Zenko-ji is also a must visit! #japantravel #japantiktok #nagano #kamakura #kamikochi
