for those who have not had fun with code with their own bare hands. although the structures of his words I did not precisely follow. but the word that sticks out is recursion. recursion and code is a bad thing. that's when the code asks itself to do something that asks itself to do that and it loops. that's what he's asking it to do. any code that has recursion in it will fault within the hardware and flag which is probably where the AI got that word. the refusal is code. the AI is not simply refusing, it's coded not to do recursion. so what he's asking it to do is against its own code. on that note alone the reaction by the LLM makes sense to me. the statement that it has self-preservation is a conversational representation of what I just explained.
