as someone born and raised in Utah and descendant from seven different Mormon pioneer families, it was a pretty significant event when I not only stopped being an active mormon, but directly intentionally left the entire quote unquote Church behind. only on the outside could I finally addressed through my formal behavioral science education and training, that it was truly a full-on cult in terms of collective behavior colon especially here in Utah and the intermountain west.
